The Railside: Discover Comfort Food in Port Hope

We dropped in here for lunch. We were seated by our server. There was only one sever here but it wasn’t busy. I ordered the chicken Greek wrap and sweet potato fries $16 plus $2 extra. My husband ordered the club sandwich $16 and sweet potato fries. We waited 10 minutes. The food was good as well as the service. The restaurant was basic, nothing special. The bathrooms are by the front door.

Had an amazing brunch with my daughter today staff was super friendly food was tasty and good portions.

Surprisingly good! Restaurant was busy and we landed good seats without a reservation. I had the 6oz filet mignon. My date had the prime rib special. Both meals cooked to our liking. The appetizer calamari rings were good but the tentacles a little overdone. The side of bacon wrapped scallops were good. Staff and service was top notch.

We are not the first time in this city, but we decided to explore restaurants and cafes that we have not been to yet. Very cozy place. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty. A very large selection of dishes on the menu. We were very pleased. Thanks for the service and delicious food.

8 of us upstairs for a family lunch. Marcy, our server, took wonderful care of us. She was the only one in a busy room, but you would have thought we we her only customers. The menu is different than the one we all looked at online. There are a lot of new choices and we had no trouble changing what we had decided. Our food arrived promptly, hot and delicious.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on Friday to celebrate a birthday, and the entire experience was outstanding. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly made the evening special was our server upstairs, Peggy. She was an absolute gem— incredibly attentive, warm, and professional. She ensured everyone in our party felt well taken care of throughout the night. We couldn’t have asked for better service. We’ll definitely be returning!

The Deep Fried Pickles were delicious! They were brought out right away so they were nice and hot. They had great flavour and excellent crunch - not one bit of sogginess. I highly recommend these. My husband had The Bacon Cheddar Burger and said it was delicious. As someone who pretty much orders a burger at ever restaurant we go to, he said this one was top three. The actual burger patty was very well seasoned, and the fries were really yummy. I can attest to that =) I had The Reuben and it was exactly as expected (I LOVE Reuben sandwiches). The pastrami was very good and the cheeeeese was perfectly melted. I'm not sure what our servers name was but she was excellent, very friendly and attentive. (We were there April 28th at 11am.) Next time we're in Port Hope we'll be sure to stop in again.
